You know when you set out to design something and you're trying to get decent pics to work from but can't find them so you just use what you have even though they're not the best and then one day when you're part finished you come across something that you weren't even looking for at the time? Well, that happened here.

I designed the 'main' panel (the one on the top surface) which took a few days on and off to get it looking the way I wanted it as there are so many intricate parts to get right. Having finished it and planning to start the next one, I was searching for something completely unrelated and managed to find these! Needless to say, it saved me a load of time having to do the other 2 panels so credit to the original author of those files.

I saved the paths from the designs and then opened them in C4D where they turned to splines. All I did was extrude and texture them and I had the metal panels. I went for the dirty, grubby look instead of them being all shiny.
